For more than 30 years, Dr. Cripe has worked at the intersection of neuroscience, engineering, and behavioral health, advancing technologies that help clinicians better understand and support the brain’s capacity to heal.

Dr. Curtis Cripe, PhD is a neuroengineer, behavioral medicine researcher, and pioneer in the application of neuroscience to trauma recovery, addiction treatment, and cognitive restoration. As Founder and Neuroscience Director of NTLgroup, he has spent more than three decades developing innovative methods that help clients and clinicians better understand how trauma, chronic stress, PTSD, addiction, and brain injury affect the brain’s ability to regulate, adapt, and heal.

Dr. Cripe’s career began in aerospace engineering, contributing to NASA’s deep-space missions at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory before turning his attention to one of the most complex systems in existence—the human brain. Drawing on his engineering background, he has dedicated his career to understanding how the brain changes through experience and how those changes can be measured, guided, and restored.

He is the creator of the NeuroCodex® cognitive assessment platform and the NeuroCoach® brain training system, technologies designed to identify patterns of neural dysregulation and support the brain’s capacity for neuroplastic recovery. His work integrates advanced EEG-based brain mapping with cognitive and neurophysiological training to provide clinicians with objective insights that complement traditional psychological and neuropsychological evaluation.

Throughout his career, Dr. Cripe has authored numerous peer-reviewed research articles, and several books focused on brain recovery, particularly in the areas of trauma, addiction, PTSD, and acquired brain injury. He has been an invited speaker and lecturer worldwide for his work in this diverse field. His work reflects a systems-based approach that recognizes many behavioral health challenges as adaptive responses to underlying neurological and emotional disruption rather than isolated symptoms.

At The Guest House, Dr. Cripe’s work supports the organization’s commitment to addressing the root causes of trauma-related suffering. By combining objective brain assessment with restorative cognitive training, his approach helps clinicians better understand each individual’s unique neurological profile while supporting personalized treatment strategies that promote regulation, resilience, and lasting recovery.

If you or a family member is burdened by trauma-induced, self-destructive behaviors, we encourage you to reach out for help as early as possible.
