Renee comes to The Guest House Ocala with 20 years of experience in mental health and addictions counseling. She holds a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling and is a Certified Addictions Professional in Florida, as well as an Internationally Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor. She was one of the first Certified Trauma Therapists under Spirit 2 Spirit and also has extensive training through IITAP in sex addiction.
Renee has worked in both the private and corporate sectors and has experience in case management, admissions, discharge planning, counseling, and family counseling. She recently left the corporate world after 11 years as a Utilization Review Director, fighting on the front lines and advocating for clients with their insurance carriers to maximize benefits and secure the coverage they deserve.
Renee’s personal experience with recovery fuels her drive, dedication, and gratitude for this work. Gravitation toward an individualized approach with clients, she believes that while traditional talk therapy is vitally important, it may not work for everyone. When meeting a client where they are, it is essential to learn what works best for them. Renee has a passion for experiential therapies such as equine therapy, holistic breathwork, ropes courses, art therapy, and music therapy.
“My belief is that every individual who walks into The Guest House is a survivor. The most beautiful thing we can do for another is to hold space.”
