James Weeden is a dedicated therapist who brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to The Guest House Ocala. His career trajectory includes a rich educational background and diverse professional experiences that have helped him become an exceptional source of strength, guidance and understanding for his clients.
James holds a Master of Counseling from Assumption College and a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Massachusetts. An avid learner, James has also earned 20 credits toward a Ph.D. at Harvard University. His pursuit of academic excellence reflects an unwavering commitment to personal growth, grounded in his dedication to continually providing the highest level of care, support and guidance to those in need of healing.
Before coming to The Guest House, James served as a commanding officer in the United States Army for 30 years, where his exemplary service was recognized with a Bronze medal. This experience helped shape his understanding of resilience, leadership and the human spirit, which he now uses to empower his clients. James has also worked with Northeast Health Services as a psychotherapist, treating a wide variety of conditions and further honing his counseling skills.
Currently, James is making an impact as a psychotherapist at The Guest House. His motivation stems from his genuine interest in helping people work through and resolve their issues with holistic, evidence-based and individualized solutions. Harboring a deep sense of empathy, James approaches each client with compassion and understanding, providing a safe and supportive space for healing and growth.
Outside of work, James enjoys meeting new people, running and traveling. However, his ideal day off often involves relaxing with a good book by the pool.
