Alan graduated from the University of Central Florida in 2015 with a Master of Arts degree in Marriage, Couple, and Family Therapy. Relevant clinical experiences include helping children grow beyond their trauma through therapeutic play interventions, assisting caregivers to enhance their protective capacities, and providing counseling to adults.
Alan believes there is an important connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. This triad influences one another in many ways, though they are often in ways that may be confusing – at first – to the person living them. Through collaboration and the therapeutic alliance, the individual gains a deeper understanding of how those are connected and is equipped with new ways of interrupting uncomfortable patterns of thinking, feeling, or interacting.
Alan was deeply influenced by a quote from Horace Traubel, “If the world is cold, make it your business to build fires.”
