Marla graduated from Georgia State University with her bachelor’s degree in psychology. As one struggling from unresolved trauma and addiction she found her passion for helping others walk through their healing journey, which she then turned into a profession by obtaining a Master of Science degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Capella University and then received her certification as a level III Trauma Therapist.
Marla is a member of the American Counseling Association, The Florida Counseling Association, and The National Society for Leadership and Success. She has worked in multiple areas of mental health, including a substance abuse program within a prison, residential, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient, and outpatient settings.
Marla believes in helping others explore and resolve the core of their pain to find healing. Her direct and nurturing approach invites those to be a participant in their own healing story. In her spare time Marla enjoys playing the cello, writing, and is a movie and book enthusiast. You can also find her spending time with her husband who is a professional photographer at the NASA and SpaceX Rocket launches.
