Arlene is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and a Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor. She received her degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana University in Fort Wayne, IN and is certified as a Trainer, Educator, Practitioner in Sociometry, Psychodrama and Group Psychotherapy by the American Board of Examiners. Additionally, Arlene is certified as a Sex Addiction Therapist and a Sex Addiction Therapy Supervisor through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals. Her certification as a Trauma Therapist is through Spirit 2 Spirit Trauma Training Institute. She received her Master Addiction Counselor certification from the National Association for Alcohol and Drug Addiction Counselors.
Arlene has worked in the mental health and addiction fields for over 40 years, and during the past 35 years has conducted thousands of training seminars throughout the US and in Europe. Arlene was one of the founding members of the Indiana Association for Addiction Professionals and served on the Board of Directors until moving to Florida in 2007, where she joined one of the premier trauma and addiction treatment centers in the United States. In 2014 Arlene returned to Indiana and continued her work through Healing Heart Connections, LLC in Fort Wayne. She provides program consultation, professional training in multicultural trauma treatment and psychodrama, intensive psychodrama workshops and clinical supervision for those training in psychodrama and sex addiction treatment. Additionally, she teaches as a Limited Term Lecturer at IPFW and is one of the faculty for the Spirit 2 Spirit Trauma Treatment Programs. Arleneās passion is to provide and to train professionals to provide the highest quality multicultural treatment to those who have experienced complex trauma so that they can embrace the life they were created to live.
