Tara Philcox is a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and Addictions Registered Nurse. She received her degree in nursing from Miami-Dade College and her Master’s degree at Jacksonville University. Tara’s goals as a PMHNP include incorporating functional as well as Western medicine to find a balance in the psychiatric health of her guests.
Since becoming a registered nurse, Tara has devoted her attention to the treatment of those affected by Trauma, PTSD, and Substance Use Disorder. She has held positions as both a charge nurse and nurse manager in her chosen field. Tara’s compassion and caring spirit is clearly displayed in her interactions with her guests. Her personal history with trauma and addiction gives her a deeper level of understanding as well as invigorates her relationships with guests. She has a passion to ensure all guests are treated with respect, dignity, and empathy, with a focus on utilizing the environment of the guests to assist in their recovery.
In keeping with the spirit of self-care that is so important in the mental health industry, Tara enjoys diving, fishing and working on cars with her sons. Her German Shepard “Freedom” and Staffordshire Terrier “Peace” provide love and protection as emotional support animals for the family.
